Parents' Club Update & Oct. 1 Tailgate

Also in the news, the Zete Parents' Club (formerly Mothers' Club) has been re-launched under the leadership of Jennie Swan and Barbara Weikert, both of whom have really grabbed the reins and made some fantastic improvements. The most important change was to hire a chef and re-institute a daily meal program at Zete. Following Pierre's retirement in 2006 (after an incredible 25 years of service to the House!), the Active Chapter has tried numerous ways of feeding its members with various degrees of success, but was unable to find a qualified, affordable chef. The Actives, led by Peter Swan and Chandler Kowtko, Treasurer, and the Parents' Club not only recruited a chef but they also re-provisioned the kitchen with new equipment, supplies and utensils etc. I was out the House on September 12th for Monday Night Dinner and the Actives were very pleased with the quality of the food.

Cal vs. Utah

Not resting on their laurels, the Parents' Club is hosting a tailgate prior to the Cal vs. Utah Homecoming Game on October 1st at 3 pm. All alumni are cordially invited. Please see the attached flyer and response card. We'd love to see you at the game as the Bears return home to build upon an impressive win over #11 Texas (and hopefully over Arizona State, too).
